Hi Friends and happy WIAW. Thanks for popping by for the weekly visit. Hope you are all ready for the holidays and have plans to relax and enjoy the holiday season with friends and family. I had plans to go home but unfortunately my work schedule was changed at the last minute so I have to cancel my plans and stay here. It is supposed to get quite cold here in Minneapolis so I will probably be inside and catch up on some Netflix or Amazon Prime shows.
This week I picked up some gluten free Kashi waffles. I read about some bloggers recommending them and found them in stock at a local Hy-Vee grocery store. I topped them with maple syrup and had 2 eggs and some whites on the side. They were really good. I will definitely buy them again. I also had some coffee and almond milk on the side. I ordered a Chemex coffee system this weekend during this big free shipping and sale event at many stores. I’ve heard great things about the Chemex and hopefully it will live up to the hype. I got the 3 cup system.
For lunch I had a sandwich with some of this turkey broth. It was my first time trying this and it was really good. The seasoning was quite good. I added some extra water and didn’t find it overly salty. It was on sale at Thrive Market last week and I ordered some to try. The convenience of the container is a plus as well
For dinner I baked a sweet potato in the oven. I’ve been cooking up these spuds after buying big bags at Costco for $7. This one was a bit thicker and I was too impatient to wait for it to fully cook so salvaged what was already cooked. I had salmon and then topped it with guac and some Jack’s Hot Salsa. I found this at Target and have tried the medium and the hot. The hot is ok but I think I prefer the medium.
After dinner I sliced up some more pumpkin bread that I made and talked about last week. I made one loaf as per last week dn the other loaf I added in 1/4 cup dairy free chocolate chips.
I snacked on a slice…or two….quality control testing 🙂 as well as some leftover apple and blueberry crisp and vanilla yogurt
That’s a wrap on this week. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and enjoy some great food and great company.
Did you do any online shopping this week? It seemed that almost every store was offering free quick shipping. I picked up some odd items that I wouldn’t have normally got as it didn’t meet the usual ‘minimum shipping quota’. Don’t remember this in previous years but definitely a nice perk.
