Hi friends and thanks for stopping by for the WIAW on this first full week in December. I had bought a ticket to see the Olympic women’s hockey game between Canada and the USA a few weeks ago and the game was on Sunday. I live near the arena so it was a quick walk over to the game. Women’s hockey is a favorite sport and I remember going to see the same match many years ago in Canada with my Dad. Canada won in overtime 🇨🇦
Breakfast this week has been new for me. I’ve been feeling like I wanted a break from oatmeal. I had some smoked salmon in the fridge that I bought at Costco. I added some to cooked eggs and put them in tortillas. I also had a pear, almond milk yogurt, and a sprinkle of muesli. The smoked salmon was quite good.
I was at Costco and spotted this muesli that is made here in Minneapolis. I don’t care to eat bowls of muesli but thought I would top it on yogurt or for a snack. It is really good and not overly sweet and in fact is really low on the sweetness scale.
Lunch was a hot bowl of barley vegetable soup from Costco with turkey crackers. I also had a Kind pressed bar which was a Cyber Monday deal that I ordered.
REI had a big sale on all the Hydro Flask bottles last week. I bought a couple new ones and then when I was in store buying a jacket on the weekend I couldn’t resist this small one. It is called their ‘wine’ one but I’ve found it the perfect size for a small cup of warm milk. I sipped on some warm vanilla almond milk with a splash of almond nog while doing some computer work before heading out to walk to the hockey game.
I got home and was wanting something warm for dinner after the few hours in the cold arena. I ground some bison and then mixed some frozen spinach and TJ frozen peppers and onions. I layered it with sauce and 3 lasagna noodles and topped with nutritional yeast. I baked it and it was hot and just what I wanted.
Dessert/snack has been new as well this week. I picked up these waffles in the freezer at Whole Foods.
I cooked one and topped it with some maple syrup and had a warm pear with cinnamon and some frozen blueberries. The waffles are kinda so-so. I don’t think I’ll buy them again. I had a craving for waffles but may try a different gluten free brand after I finish the 2 boxes in the freezer.
That’s a wrap for this week. I have been looking at new jeans as I desperately need some new styles. I’ve been ordering multiple sizes this week from companies so hoping I’ll find a winner in the shipment.
Any favorite jeans? It seems so hard to find higher rise jeans these days that aren’t super skinny in style.
