Hi Friends. Thanks for stopping by on this last Wednesday in July for some WIAW fun thanks to Laura. On Saturday I headed west of Boston for the morning. I heard that a gluten free and allergy expo was coming to this town and I found a deal on Living Social for tickets. I arrived a bit early and stopped by a small farmer’s market on the way. I didn’t buy anything but thought the mural was neat on this building.
Before I headed out on the road I had a quick breakfast of oats.
Unfortunately the expo was a dud. There was a major focus on gluten over allergy foods it seemed. There were also a lot of plain rice and pasta companies there. I did pick up a couple of sample items to try but overall I wouldn’t go again. Definitely glad I didn’t pay full price for the ticket.
I came home and had a snack-ish lunch. I tried a couple of products from the expo that I actually had to throw out. They weren’t good at all. I was kinda annoyed as I had hoped that they would be tasty. I ended up having some Cheerios instead with this new to me almond milk I picked up. I had seen it at Whole Foods but then spotted it at Target when I stopped for a couple things on the way home. It is really good and has a nice vanilla flavor to it.
I also ate the remaining watermelon x 2 in the fridge
I spent the afternoon at home pondering some career and job decisions. I need to make some decisions soon and trying to decide whether to settle down permanently or continue this travel nursing for a while. Grown up adult decisions seem so hard sometimes!!!
Dinner was my version of a cupboard and freezer use up. I boiled some brown rice pasta and heated up a TJ chicken sausage. I topped it with some sriracha for heat and sprinkled nutritional yeast on top. It was excellent and I actually made it again last night with some chicken instead. I actually thought it tasted like cheese (which I know everyone who has nutritional yeast says!).
I had a bowl of cold cooked beats with some dressing drizzled on top
Ended the day on a cold note with 2 of these Mango fruit bars. They are so good! That’s it for this week’s link up fun. Don’t forget to stop by and see what everyone else has been up to. Hope you all have a great weekend and aren’t too affected by the heatwave in the various regions of the country.
I’ve been looking at online/download language software to learn Spanish. Have you used Rosetta Stone or Fluenz or another version? I don’t mind investing in the program but am apprehensive about whether they are actually as beneficial to learn the language as they advertise. Any suggestions would be great!
