Happy WIAW Friends. Hope you are all having a good week and are planning on a relaxing holiday tomorrow. I am off tomorrow but do have to work Friday unfortunately. I spent the weekend checking out the city and accomplishing a lot on my never ending ‘to do’ list. I needed to return a jacket and stopped by the Sears store at Mall of America. I had planned on trying on a few pairs of jeans at a store but quickly lost interest as it was late in the afternoon and my energy was fading. This place is massive. I’ve been to mega malls before but this place was so much larger
Eggs on toast with turkey for breakfast. I had thought of picking up some bacon but only wanted a slice or two and didn’t want to deal with a whole pack. I wish single slice bacon was available.
I have been adding collagen to my coffee and almond milk and putting it in my Hydro Flask travel mug. I then froth it a bit with my $2 Ikea froth tool. This mug is the best and it keeps fluids either hot or cold for such a long time.
I then headed out for the day and stopped by Target. Target is headquartered here and there are stores all over the city. There are also a lot of ‘Super Target’ stores which have a full supermarket inside. Phoenix had them and I’ve found they seem to stock more products compared to regular stores. This one was near my house and had a liquor store inside even. In true Target fashion I left with some of the items on my list, forgot a few things I intended to get, and of course picked up some items I didn’t have on the list. My not on the list item was some Dunkin Donuts coffee on clearance for only $3.97. Couldn’t pass that up 😉
My next stop was the car dealers. I spent the entire day test driving and comparing the cars on my list. I finally made a decision and will turn in my current lease and get the new car this weekend. I stopped my Whole Foods mid day and grabbed a few things including a Gingerbread RX bar. I thought I would try it out and since they were 2 for $4 I got 2. I regretted it and only took a few bites as I was not a fan.
Since I was out all day I came home and was tired and hungry. I threw a chicken breast in the oven and then made a couple of Mexican wraps with these grain free tortillas from Siete Foods. I gulped at WF and paid the $9 to try these out as I had heard others raving about them. I mixed the chicken with salsa and guac and called it dinner with a kale salad. I liked them but not sure I’ll buy them often unless I can find them cheaper.
After dinner I was going to but up a pear I had from Costco but it wasn’t quite ripe enough. I just defrosted some berries in the freezer. I picked up some snickerdoodle cookies while in a packed TJ’s and had a couple.
That’s it for this week. It is Tuesday night and I am off to bed to rest up for work tomorrow. Although I won’t have a Thanksgiving dinner to attend tomorrow I am looking forward to the day off and to just relax.
Do you have plans for tomorrow?
Are you cooking a big meal?
